2015-09-19: Geocaching In North Florida With Friends Finding Turtle GeoArt

So for today's adventure, we drove up to North Florida and the Osceola National Forest to attend the GeoArt Turtle Kick-Off event. Held at HorseshoeChamps compound and hosted by Geoturtlelover, we all gathered for some socializing before given the go-ahead to get started. We teamed up with YankaBucs, MsYB, and CoalCracker7 to go out on the hunt to find all the Turtle Puzzle caches and a couple more.

A few hours later, we were all back at the ranch, sharing stories, and having lunch. It was a great day ending with a total of 66 caches, our second GeoArt, and hanging out with friends. We even stopped to have dinner in St. Augustine with Candy's family.

One of the non-turtle caches we found. A nano the size
of a pencil eraser was hidden somewhere on this bridge.

2015-05-16: Ghost Town Cemetery and Geocaching with Friends

Today we were meeting some friends to go Geocaching on the west side of I-4 in Sanford, FL. They were driving down from North Florida and wasn't going to get there until late morning. So with Candy and I having time to spare, we decided to get some of the other area caches before hand.

Did you know there was a ghost town right there off of Hwy 46? Probably thousands of people drive by on that busy highway every day and not know about it. Well thanks to Geocaching, it told us there was once a small town there called Ethel established back in the 1800's. We parked down the road to the Rock Spring Run State Preserve and made the 1.5 mile round trip hike to visit the Ethel Cemetery.

After returning to our car, we made our way over to meet up with HorseshoeChamp, Geoturtlelover, and Parkhoppers to find the "Lucky 7" series of puzzle caches nearby. It was a pretty fun time and we ended finding a total of 39 caches for the day before heading home.

2015-01-03: Geocaching with Friends in the Ocala National Forest

It's always fun to go Geocaching with a group of friends and yesterday (Jan 3rd) was one of those days. We met up with YankaBucs, MsYB, HorseshoeChamp, Geoturtlelover, and ItchyFeet2Wander in the Ocala National Forrest to find the TAFF and Breaking Bad series of caches. It was a fun fast day in the ONF and we managed to find 65 caches before Candy and I called it a day and headed home. Didn't take a whole lot of pictures except for this creative cache container and a couple of deer and bear tracks.
Today (Jan 4th) Candy and I drove back up to the ONF again to find some more of the TAFF series of caches along with a few others mixed in along the way. We added 42 caches to the found column today.
